I got something to say

Yesterday, there was an article in the Korea Times in reference to the North Korean Missile problem. It appears that China and Russia want to proceed with the 6 party talks.They contend that that is the only way to the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

That may well be true but, as I stated in my last blog, If that’s what we desire then we need to change our approach. For the past 8 years, we have played this game and gotten nothing in return. North Korea, on the other hand has gotten alot of much needed aid. Granted alot of the problem what a result of three governments all following their on agendas. In order to end this changes have to be made.

First, Japan,South Korea and the United States have got to work together . If all of the parties do not work together then it will not work. This means that some concessions are going to have to be made by all 3 .Only then can we start to put pressure on the North Koreans.

Second, the North must be made to realize that we will not reward bad behavior.They can be no aid given to them under any conditions. Once they begin to honor some of the agreements they have signed then we can resume partial aid. For every agreement honored more aid can be given.While Japan and the US, might be willing to do this I don’t know about South Korea. In the past they have refused to cut off aid no matter what the North did.Also they have built several industrial complexes in the North where at this time
